McLaren to Make MP4-12C Shooting Brake to Compete With Ferrari FF

AutoExpress IllustrationAccording to the UK’s AutoExpress, McLaren is developing a long roof version of the MP4-12C. Said to be priced at about $230,000, the McLaren shooting brake will offer an economical alternative to Ferrari’s $360,000 FF. What’s interesting is that the FF has a front engine layout while the McLaren is a midengine car. I don’t think anyone’s tried to make a midengined station wagon before, at least outside of a drag strip. AutoExpress says that their drawings are “exclusive” which means they had an artist render them and they are pure speculation.
