You don’t often see Ford Broncos without any rust. The first generation Broncos were badly infested with the tin worm, and the second gen trucklets weren’t much better. That’s why it was surprising to find this ’85 Bronco II in seemingly showroom condition at the Ford & Mercury restorers’ club meet this summer. It’s not just a survivor, the Bronco looks brand new. Even the interior is pristine. First gen Broncos have an active enthusiast community so it shouldn’t surprise anyone to find a Bronco at a car show. Still most of the original Broncos that have survived are no longer in original condition having been modified for better off-road performance. 2nd gen Broncos haven’t fared much better. Though the 2nd gen Bronco is one of those vehicles that led to the SUV craze, it was much more luxurious than the original Bronco, in its day most people still used it as a work truck – many of the Broncos and Bronco IIs that didn’t completely rust out still ended up completely worn out. This one looks like it just got prepped for delivery. This is the kind of car or truck that makes me love the hobby. Anyone can keep a Corvette or Mustang in nice shape but keeping a vehicle like this in as-new condition is worth noting.

"...I've been over to Cars In Depth on many occasions. Barring the whole 3D thing which drives me up the wall (that's a personal thing, though), I like the content, the writing, and the simple formatting. You do a great job over there, and I am impressed."
