Some of the reports from people who have driven the new F-Type from Jaguar say that the V6 models are a bit better balanced than the V8 equipped roadsters. Of course those same people go on to say that the supercharged V8 is too much fun to pass up. With either engine, I think the new F-Type will be a hit. Why drive a Porsche Boxster when you can be at the wheel of a proper Jaguar roadster? Purists may balk at the lack of a manual transmission, but frankly modern multispeed automatics are so good that I don’t think anyone’s going to miss shifting. Jaguar has put a lot of effort into getting the psychodynamics of the car right – all the inputs, including the way the autobox shifts, have been calibrated to evoke the maximum amount of tactile joy. So far the early reports say that Jaguar hit the mark. When a F-Type becomes available for testing via the Jaguar press fleet, we hope to have a full review. In the meantime, enjoy the pics.

"...I've been over to Cars In Depth on many occasions. Barring the whole 3D thing which drives me up the wall (that's a personal thing, though), I like the content, the writing, and the simple formatting. You do a great job over there, and I am impressed."
