Car enthusiasts generally don’t give thanks for the existence of police cars, but this 1990s B-body 9C1 Caprice was the progenitor for the dearly beloved Impala SS version of the “bubble” cars. Just like alphanumerics like Z06 and Z28, 9C1 is a production code, in this case for Chevy’s police package. There is an active 9C1 enthusiast community. A 1976 9C1 Nova is on my lottery list. Effectively it’s a four door Z28, only with less body flex.
