I’m preparing a review of the 2014 Audi A7 TDI Quattro for TTAC. Short version: a very nice car and torque is a wonderful thing. In the meantime, watch me take the A7 for a couple of loops around the Rackham golf course parking parking lot (and engage in some token douchebaggery by manually activating the rear decklid spoiler). Horace Rackham, Henry Ford’s attorney and an early investor in Ford Motor Company, built the golf course and donated it to the city of Detroit for public use because he thought regular folks should be able to play what had been until then a leisure activity of the wealthy. Sparing little expense, Rackham hired legendary golf course architect Donald Ross, who also designed 400 golf courses including links considered some of the world’s finest at Pinehurst, Inverness and Oakland Hills. Rackham also contracted another famous architect, Albert Kahn, to design the course’s clubhouse.
