Preston Tucker died of cancer on this date in 1956, still hoping to revive his dream with another design by Alex Tremulous, the Carioca, but that was not to be.
Tucker was from southeastern Michigan, the Tucker family home was in Ypsilanti and he’s buried with his wife Vera in Flat Rock at the Michigan Memorial Park. His grave marker has a couple of Masonic symbols and a profile of the Tucker automobile. As far as I know, the only other notable car maker whose car appears on his gravestone is John DeLorean at White Chapel in Troy.
