We don’t have any stereo 3D photos of Siegfried Marcus’ motorcars, but we do have some shots of accurate replicas of Carl Benz’s 1886 Patent Wagen, Gotlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach’s1885 Reitwagen and Henry Ford’s 1896 Quadricycle. All three replicas are from the collection of the Automotive Hall of Fame which is located within the Henry Ford Museum / Greenfield Village complex and they were on display at the 2011 Detroit Makers’ Faire. The Patent Wagen is one of the replicas made by John Bentley Engineering. Not sure who made the Daimler Reitwagen. The original Quadricycle was just a few hundred feet away from the replica in a display case in the Henry Ford Museum. I believe the Quadricycle replica was made by Ford to commemorate one of their anniversaries, or perhaps to make the video below which includes footage of Henry and Clara Ford riding in the original Quadricycle, which during Ford’s lifetime was stored in the garage at the Fords’ Fair Lane estate so he could tinker with it at his pleasure. There is no film footage of Bertha Benz recreating her 1886 historic ride in Karl’s Patent Wagen, but there is historic footage of Karl and Bertha attending a meet of an antique automobile club in 1925.
