The media preview to the 2012 North American International Auto Show officially starts early Monday morning but there are already events all around the Detroit area in connection with the big show. As soon as this post is edited and published, I’m putting on my suit and taking my daughter to Cadillac’s reveal of the new ATS compact luxury sedan at Detroit’s College for Creative studies. Tomorrow and Tuesday, Marty Densch and I will be covering the show for this site and Jack Baruth and Suzanne Denbow may contribute some content if their other obligations permit. If schedules permit, some of us may sit down for an Auto Show After Hours video for this site. Also, the plan is to try and get as many cars photographed and videoed as possible so we can present as much of the 2012 NAIAS in 3D as we can. There are extra memory cards formatted and extra batteries charged. I’m even going to try to get some photo editing and 3D processing done while at Cobo so we can post 3D content to the site during the media preview soon after each press conference ends. At least that’s the plan. So please come back frequently during the day on Monday and Tuesday as news from the show breaks and as new concepts and production models are introduced. We’ll also try to have end-of-day wrap ups with additional 3D content each day. Then, as the bulk of the raw 3D photos and video is processed, we’ll be publishing content from the media preview as the industry and public parts of the NAIAS proceed.
What folks are saying:
"...I've been over to Cars In Depth on many occasions. Barring the whole 3D thing which drives me up the wall (that's a personal thing, though), I like the content, the writing, and the simple formatting. You do a great job over there, and I am impressed."
