Chevy’s new Sonic and Spark got a lot of attention from families at the ’12 NAIAS. That’s because there were Sonics and Sparks set up in the part of the Chevy display that housed a caricature artist and a custom button making assembly line so there were lots of families there. In the back there was a Z Spec Sonic, which was shown as a concept at last year’s NAIAS and will now be available. There was also a car that I think will sell surprisingly well, the Sonic sedan. GM wanted to give the three box Sonic as much trunk space as they could and they ended up with a car that’s almost the same size as the Cruze sedan, a much more expensive car.
