Of the three driving sims that I saw in action at the NAIAS this year, the Mazda Laguna Seca experience was the most like an amusement park ride. There was room inside for a mocked up interior of a car (well, the seats and console) and once people strapped themselves in they were along for the ride. Unlike at Toyota and Ford, the Mazda sim didn’t let you drive. Considering how difficult navigating Laguna’s infamous Corkscrew is, even for experienced drivers, maybe it wasn’t a bad idea to offer a ride-along instead of a drive.
