Chevy is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Corvette with the Corvette 427 convertible, the fastest Corvette convertible ever. The 427 Vette borrows some components from the Z06 and the ZR-1 versions of the car and special attention was paid to making sure that the body and chassis were up to snuff. In addition to announcing the 427 ragtop, Chevy also introduced a 60th anniversary package that will be available on all Corvettes. To make sure we understood it was the Vette’s 60th birthday, the a new 427 convertible with the anniversary package was on display at the Chicago Auto Show parked, nose-to-nose, with a ’53 Corvette. All 300 1953 Corvettes came in polo white. The 427 package comes with “arctic white” paint. The difference between the two colors is striking, with the newer color having an almost cold, austere look about it. If they used a white, why not nod to tradition and go with polo white? In any case they both cars looked looked great.

"...I've been over to Cars In Depth on many occasions. Barring the whole 3D thing which drives me up the wall (that's a personal thing, though), I like the content, the writing, and the simple formatting. You do a great job over there, and I am impressed."
