It’s called “ZL-55” and as you’d guess from the fact that it’s a 1955 Chevy that the ZL part refers to a ZL-1 engine, the legendary all aluminum version of Chevy’s 427 big block V8. The car hails from Athens, Tennessee and it’s owned by Johnny and Frances Edmunson. The builders were Craig’s Hot Rod Shop and Rongey’s Restoration. Greening Auto Company did some of the machining, making their second Great Eight appearance this year, Recovery Room made the custom interior and matching fitted luggage. At one time, Gene Felton raced this before Hinkle Machine Shop turned it into a show car.
