This is a first for Car Tunes as we’re featuring one of our own videos. Big auto show charity previews usually have some kind of musical entertainment. At this year’s Chicago Auto Show, the band was Blues Traveler, which was a treat for me, as I make a little noise on the harmonica and I’ve been a fan of BT and John Popper since they played the Wetlands in NYC. The show had comped me a ticket and I found a nice tux in a resale shop for $20 so I went. Having my 3D rigs with me it would have been stupid not to shoot 3D video of the gig. The results are pretty good, there’s some ghosting on the anaglyph version in some places but with true binocular stereo, it looks great. The sound came out halfway decently as well. Popper was bantering with the audience about cars before this song, saying that he really wanted to see the “new Lexus”. He introduced You, Me and Everything by saying that the song was about “a particular ride I took in a car… Mercedes goes really fast,” a reference to the time he was arrested after his Merc, driven by someone else, was pulled over for doing 110 mph, and the cops got excited about John’s small arsenal of weapons. Popper is a firearms enthusiast.

The introduction to You, Me and Everything starts at about 17:00 of the first video and the song continues onto the second clip.
